Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Saturday accused TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao of being an arrogant politician who did not respect his political opponents.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad, Ponnala strongly objected to the use of certain words by KCR about him.
Reacting to the term "broker" used to describe him by KCR, he said that the term suited the TRS chief more.
He said that KCR was leveling baseless allegations against him, and using unparliamentary language. He said it was his (Ponnala's) upbringing that stopped him from abusing KCR.
Ponnala denied threatening to tear the TRS into pieces. He also denied meeting any TRS leader for negotiations. He alleged that KCR was insecure due to his own party leaders, and that was the reason that forced him to make baseless allegations against him.
The TPCC chief claimed that he had achieved a good position after a long struggle.
"I have seen hunger and humiliation, and then I went to the US for studies. Upon my return, I joined the Congress party to serve the country," he said. (INN)
