Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Sunday announced that he was ready to face any probe into the allegations of land-grabbing leveled by TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao against him.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Ponnala claimed that KCR's allegations were false and baseless.
He said that KCR had been targeting him out of frustration and a fear of losing the next elections.
By making serious allegations, KCR was trying to divert the people's attention, he alleged.
Ponnala also accused KCR of indulging in large-scale corruption at all levels.
He said that KCR had faced allegations of selling party tickets to rich aspirants while ignoring the genuine workers in the 2009 elections.
He had repeated the same mistake and sold party tickets to rich candidates at exorbitant prices this time, too, Ponnala alleged.
He said that the TRS headquarters Telangana Bhavan had turned into a den of corruption.
The TPCC chief reiterated that KCR had played no role in the formation of Telangana. He said that Telangana State became a reality due to the sacrifices made by nearly 1,200 students and youth, and due to AICC Sonia Gandhi's firm resolve to grant statehood to the region.
In fact, he alleged that KCR was unhappy over the formation of Telangana, which had put an end to the extortion and other illegal practices by him and other TRS leaders. (INN)
