Polling ended by 5 pm in almost all 119 Assembly constituencies across Telangana.
The polling happened from 7 am to 5 pm, except in 13 constituencies in Maoist-affected areas where polling ended at 4 pm. Those entering the queues till 5 pm (4 pm in those 13 constituencies) were given the opportunity to vote.
Election officials disclosed that the polling ended peacefully across the State except for sporadic incidents.
Information is being received that polling in the urban areas was poor compared to that in the rural areas.
While the final numbers are not yet out, officials estimate that polling percentage in the State may be reported as between 65 and 68. This is lesser that the 73% recorded in the 2018 Assembly elections.
