Policeman Gropes, Pinches Protesting Medical Student

A male police constable on Wednesday allegedly groped and pinched a female Ayurvedic medical student while dispersing protestors who were staging a dharna against the State government's proposal to shift the Government Ayurvedic College from the premises of the Government Unani Hospital in Charminar to the premises of the Government Ayurvedic Hospital at Erragadda.

A video of the actions of the constable pinching and stamping the medico discreetly went viral.

The cop was also seen lifting the girl student with his feet and delivering blows along with pinching her. The impact of the blows was such that the girl started crying loudly, attracting the attention of one and all.

The students were sitting on a dharna demanding the withdrawal of the proposal of the State government to shift the Ayurvedic college, and were accusing the Unani doctors of machinating the proposal.

Civil society activists demanded that the city police authorities, who they claimed always spoke about friendly policing, immediately sack the constable for his actions.
