The Director General of Police, Uttarakhand, has appealed for DNA samples of relatives of persons missing in the Uttarakhand floods. The samples will be used to identify corpses, he said in a letter.
The massive floods in Uttarakhand, on June 16 and 17 this year, claimed the lives of many pilgrims, including those from Andhra Pradesh. Since then, there have been many reports of missing persons from various parts of the country.
In relation to this, people whose relatives are missing, and who wish to give their DNA samples, may contact Dr. N K Misara at DUNE Hospital, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. (INN)
