Police Increase Security For BRS MPs & MLAs

In the wake of the attack on Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, the State government has increased the security for BRS MPs and MLAs from 2+2 to 4+4 gunmen.
Hyderabad | 31st October 2023
In the wake of the attack on Medak MP and BRS' Dubbak MLA seat candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, the State government has increased security for the ruling BRS MLAs and MPs.

The Additional DG of Intelligence has issued orders to all the district officers to increase the security for them from 2+2 to 4+4 gunmen.

The circular said that the increased security should be effected from Monday.

The opposition parties expressed anger over the increase in security for only BRS MLAs and MPs. Many MLAs and leaders of the Opposition parties appealed to the DGP to increase security for them as well. BJP MLA Raghunandan Rao complained to the Election Commission too about that, and said that if the police did not respond, he would file a complaint with the Central Election Commission.
