The terminal building has been designed deriving inspiration from the shape of Garuda (eagle) in flight with its wings flapping/spread in the air. Garuda is the carrier of Lord Vishnu whose temple at Tirupati is popular in India as well as abroad, and the design instantly connects with the passengers visiting this temple city for a pilgrimage.
The Integrated Terminal Building is capable of handling 500 domestic and 200 international passengers at a time, and is a steel and glass structure having state-of-the-art modern passenger-friendly facilities and services. Energy-efficient and eco-friendly material like fly ash bricks, low-heat-gain glass, LED lighting and energy-efficient chillers etc. are used in the building.
