Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the bus accident in the Medak district in which a passenger train hit a school bus at an unmanned railway crossing, killing 20 and injuring 15.
The Prime Minister has prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the accident.
The President Pranab Mukherjee also condoled the loss of lives in the accident.
In his message to Governor E S L Narasimhan, the President said, "I am extremely saddened to learn about the accident in which some school children lost their lives and many others were critically injured after a passenger train hit a school bus at an unmanned railway crossing in Telangana. I understand relief operations are underway.
"I am sure that the State government and other agencies are taking the necessary steps to provide urgent medical assistance to the injured and all possible aid to the bereaved families. Please convey my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. I wish speedy recovery to the injured persons," the President said. (INN)
