Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, though in the midst of a busy schedule on account of the US President Barack Obama's tour in India, has assured to help the state, chief minister K Rosaiah said on Monday.
Talking to media persons, Rosaiah categorically stated that the killer storm had weakened to the advantage of AP, although the state was geared up in all respects, with modern technology in place.
However, there was considerable damage to the roads, communication systems and houses, he added.
The CM stated that within a day or two a final report on the extent of crop loss among others, will be received.
Earlier in the day, Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao said that the district administration will be sending a detailed report to Disaster Management Commissioner T Radha by November 21.
He said that in all, 59 mandals and 199 villages were hit by the floods, and that 23,609 people were shifted to 103 shelters, while 1,01,818 food packets were supplied.
The state government will prepare the enumeration list/report to be sent to the centre for securing the necessary help after discussions with commissioners of various departments, Prasada Rao stated.
The district collectors' meeting, which was scheduled for November 11 and 12, has been postponed to November 26, 27, the minister informed.
