Hoisting the Party flag on the occasion of the sixth foundation day of the YSR Congress Party at the Party headquarters at Lotus Pond on Saturday, senior leader and MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy charged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu with duping the people of the State.
Mekapati said that Naidu talked tall but did little, and that the people were disillusioned with his performance.
He recalled that Chandrababu Naidu had first announced that the new capital would be located at Nujiveedu, then at Nagarjuna University, and finally at Amaravathi "after the TDP leaders had procured lands around the place".
On the defection of his Party MLAs to the ruling TDP, Mekapati said that they were regretting their decisions already. People would not appreciate the turncoats as ethics were important in public life.
Averring that the YSRCP would lose nothing, Mekapati felt that his Party would have a bright future if its cadre and leaders clearly explained about the Party's programs to the people.
MLA R K Roja said that the Party was inspired by the life and work of late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. She said that the Party supremo Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was working continuously for the welfare of the Party.
