In a tweet, Kalyan said, "It's not about which part of India you came from. It's important to do that what makes the country proud. Dear Nitish Kumar Reddy, you created history by becoming the youngest cricketer from India to score a Test century on Australian soil and at the iconic Melbourne cricket stadium. You displayed your talent with a brilliant knock of 114 runs in the crucial fourth Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT)."
He also encouraged Reddy to continue to achieve many more world-class records and take India's flag to greater heights.
The 21-year-old Telugu boy from Visakhapatnam batted at number 8 in the first innings of the fourth test and scored 114 runs from 189 balls. His knock helped India reach 369, from 221/7 at one point.
