Salauddin Ayub Khan, former director of Parkwood International School (Manneguda, Vikarabad), an accused in the rape case of a 13-year-old student of his school, surrendered before the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday.
The court has remanded him to judcial custody till 16 November.
Following the directions of the court, the police shifted Salauddin Ayub Khan to Chanchalguda Jail.
The Supreme Court had recently cancelled his bail and asked him to surrender before the police within a week.
About 3 months ago, a division bench of the High Court had granted bail to Salauddin Ayub Khan, who was then lodged in Chanchalguda Jail. He has been in jail for the past 11 months.
Challenging the High Court's decision, the Central Crime Station of the City Police filed a petition in the Supreme Court.
After hearing the arguments of the CCS, the apex court cancelled Khan's bail petition and asked him to surrender before the police within a week.
Salauddin Ayub has been accused of repeatedly raping a 13-year-old girl from Parkwood International School, who hailed from Mumbai. He allegedly impregnated the girl and then forced her to take some tablets so that the baby could be aborted. (INN)
