Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman M Kodandaram, on Tuesday, said that the JAC was conducting a survey in Parkal Assembly constituency, to decide which party it must support in the by-elections.
Talking to media persons, Kodandaram said that the JAC would support either the Telangana Rashtra Samithi or the Bharatiya Janata Party, based on the survey report.
He also said that the JAC would intensify its agitation for a separate Telangana after the by-poll results are declared.
"The agitation for statehood will be intensified if the Centre fails to announce a favourable decision within 3 months," he said.
Kondandaram accused the state government of neglecting quarry and granite mining in Telangana areas. He appealed to the government to apply the same conditions imposed on the lease of sand mining in the state on quarry and granite mining.
The JAC chairman also demanded that the government scrap the tenders for the construction of the Polavaram irrigation project, as its design would affect hundreds of villages in the region. (INN)
