Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud today expressed delight over the victory of Congress-supported candidates in the first phase of the 2025 Telangana Panchayat elections.
He said that the wins in over 90% of the Sarpanch seats reflected the immense trust the people had placed in the Congress government.
Calling the results a mirror of public aspirations, Goud said that the sweeping mandate reaffirmed the people's confidence in the two-year governance of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, which he claimed had prioritised welfare and grassroots development.
"People have endorsed our commitment to welfare, social justice and development," the TPCC president claimed, and added that the swift resolution of village-level issues by the Chief Minister and ministers also boosted trust in the party.
He also said that the Congress had treated the Panchayat elections as highly prestigious. Continuous coordination among ministers, MPs, MLAs and local leaders, along with village-level planning, played a crucial role in securing the massive win, he said.
The Congress model of directly engaging with rural communities strengthened its base, and dalits, adivasis, women, farmers and youth gave overwhelming support, Goud said.
Goud added that the mandate placed greater responsibility on the Congress government to accelerate rural development. He said that the administration would continue working with a vision to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system and transform every village into a hub of progress.
