Telugu Desam Party activists on Monday enquired about people's civic problems, as part of the 'Palle Palleku Telugu Desam' program in the Old City.
The program began with the TDP activists paying tributes to Dr. B R Ambedkar by garlanding his statue at Moti Nagar. The activists hoisted the party flag in many places later.
Talking to media persons, TDP leaders said that the Congress, in collaboration with the MIM, has failed to develop Hyderabad, and alleged that the two parties are the two faces of the same coin.
They added that with as many as 7 MLAs and 43 Corporators from the city, the MIM has gifted the people with an administration that has failed to solve their civic problems.
The TDP activists said that during their party's rule, Hyderabad was developed to the extent that that it bagged the Clean And Green award. They sarcastically remarked that the 'dynamic' Mayor has now turned Hyderabad into an 'Andhera Nagar'.
The GHMC has failed to maintain street lights, repair potholes on roads, supply drinking water properly and solve the issue of sewerage flowing on roads, they stated.
They charged that though Corporators have succeeded in hiking their salary 6-fold, they have failed to develop the city. The activists also pointed out that despite lacking knowledge of computers, the Corporators were given laptops worth lakhs.
