The Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) 2012 was successfully held across the state on Saturday.
According to EAMCET Convenor Prof. N V Ramana Rao, about 98% of students attended the examination for the engineering stream, in the morning session, registering the highest percentage in recent years.
He said that 5 students were arrested at an examination centre in Kurnool district, for impersonation. In another incident in Kadapa, a case was registered against a student, for entering the examination hall with a cell phone.
Over 94% applicants appeared for the exam for the medicine and agriculture streams.
However, 20 members who came late to the examination centre were not allowed to write the exam. No cases of malpractices were reported for either of the streams.
Ramana Rao said that the key for EAMCET would be released at 4pm on Sunday, and that the final key for EAMCET would be released on 24 May, after taking into consideration objections from candidates.
He said that ranks and marks in EAMCET would be announced as per the directions of the state government, on 1 June, after giving due weightage to Intermediate marks. (INN)
