Osmania University students protested near the Telangana Secretariat in the Rohith Vemula suicide case, seeking the arrests of Union ministers and the UOH VC.
The Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OUJAC) students organised a protest in front of the Telangana State Secretariat on Tuesday in support of the student movement that started off in the University Of Hyderabad after the suicide of Dalit Ph. D. student Rohith Vemula.
The agitating students demanded that the State government help the family of Vemula.
They also laid siege to the Secretariat demanding the arrest of those responsible for the death of Vemula. However, the police foiled their attempt to enter the Secretariat, and took them into custody when they sat in front of the Secretariat gate.
Telangana student JAC leader Bhaskar condemned KCR's attitude over the death of Vemula. He asked why the police had not arrested Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, BJP MLC Ramachander Rao and UOH VC Appa Rao despite cases being registered against them.
The JAC would fight for justice for Vemula's family, he swore. (NSS)
