Osmania University Hostel Mess Cook Dies Of Snake Bite

Her husband lodged a complaint with the police alleging that negligence of the OU authorities and the mess contractor was responsible for his wife's death.

A contract worker Kavita, 45, working in Osmania University's Manjeera Hostel mess, died of snake bite on Wednesday in the premises of the mess while discharging her duties.

Upon being informed, her family members rushed her to the Gandhi General Hospital. However, she breathed her last while taking treatment.

Her husband lodged a complaint with the OU police station alleging that the negligence of the OU authorities and the mess contractor was responsible for his wife's death.

The employees of the mess said that Kavita had been working there for the last 20 years, and demanded that the OU authorities render justice to her family.
