Under-fire Telangana Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy today criticized the Opposition parties for "indulging in politics" on the Intermediate examination results.
Talking to mediapersons at Suryapet today, the minister accused the Congress and the BJP leaders of trying to fish in troubled waters.
"The opposition parties should not use the issue of the Inter results for political gains," he said.
He also accused the parties of carrying out a misinformation campaign on the issue.
Reddy said that some technical and internal issues had led to the problems, and appealed to the students as well as their parents to await the report of an expert on the alleged lapses. The government would take action on getting the report, he said.
The minister also said that action would be taken against Globarena, the company that handled the technology for the examinations, if it was discovered that there were any technical issues that led to errors in the results.
The government would take steps to ensure that those who suffered losses would get justice, he promised, and said that stern action would be taken against any erring people/staff.
The minister said that there was still time for payment of fees for the advanced supplementary examinations as the date had been extended to April 27, and that those who had doubts over the marks they got could also apply for revaluation or recounting.
Reddy also claimed that the board received lesser number of requests for verification/revaluation this year as compared to last year. He said that some 4,400 applications had come in for revaluation and some 800 for recounting of the marks.
