TRS working president and former minister K T Rama Rao today warned that he would file defamation cases against the Opposition parties' leaders if they continued to make derogatory remarks against the Telangana government on the Intermediate results fiasco.
Addressing a meeting at Telangana Bhavan to mark May Day celebrations, KTR said that the Opposition parties' false comments on the Inter results were adding to the woes of the students and their parents. The Opposition leaders and some media organizations were only too ready to bring out their knives against KCR at the slightest chance, he claimed. He pointed out that he had already said that the government needed to take action against those involved in the irregularities in the results.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had also appealed to the students not to take decisions to end their lives, he said. He promised that the government would take action against the guilty as per the expert committee recommendations.
KTR condemned allegations that he was involved in giving the contract to Globarena Technologies. There was no truth in the Opposition's slander that a Rs 10,000-crore scam had taken place in the Intermediate results, he said. Globalrena was given a tender for Rs 4,35,70,000 as per the norms, he said.
The government will take necessary action, corrective steps and do justice to the students who should not lose their cool, he urged.
