An all-party meeting today demanded that the state government unconditionally release MRPS founder-president Manda Krishna Madiga from jail and withdraw the criminal cases filed against him.
The meeting also passed a resolution to launch a movement against the government for its act.
Alampur MLA S A Sampath Kumar and people's organizations organized a round table themed "Illegal Arrest of Manda Krishna Madiga and Suppression of People's Organisations". TDP leader Motkupally Narsimhulu, BJP's Chinta Sambamurthy and Telangana Inti Party leader Cheruku Sudhakar also attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Sampath demanded that the state government release all the dalits detained in the incident along with Madiga immediately. Faulting the Chief Minister for not inducting a dalit MLA in his cabinet, Sampath demanded that he induct a Madiga, a Mala and a woman candidate in his cabinet. Stating that Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu had responded positively on SC categorization, he demanded that the Chief Minister lead an all-party delegation to Delhi on the issue immediately.
Cheruku Sudhakar alleged that KCR was making the police file false cases against the MRPS activists and had them arrest Manda Krishna Madiga himself. He also slammed Health Minister C Laxma Reddy for describing the "devilish" KCR as Jesus Christ.
TTDP politburo member Motkupally Narsimhulu also spoke saying that no previous government had kept Manda Krishna Madiga in jail.
