Hyderabad | 12th April 2024
BRS party working president K T Rama Rao today said that it was only the BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao that was implementing the ideals of Dalit and Bahujan leaders Dr B R Ambedkar and Mahatma Jyotirao Phule.

Speaking at a wide-ranging meeting of the Bhuvanagiri Lok Sabha constituency BRS workers organized in Ibrahimpatnam constituency, he said that development came with education, and progress came with development.

"Phule said that equality in society would come from progress. Thus, it can be said it was KCR implemented the words of Ambedkar and Phule in practice. KCR established 1,008 gurukul schools. Six-and-a-half lakh students in gurukuls were educated at a cost of Rs 1,20,000 each, and have been moulded into globally competitive citizens," he said.

KTR said that KCR's contributions were not just in education but through also many schemes that he had implemented for the welfare of the BCs, like the sheep-rearing scheme that had been implemented at a cost of Rs 11,000 crore, and the fisheries scheme that been implemented at a cost of Rs 30,000 crore for the welfare of the fishermen.

He said that many more good schemes such as Netannaku Cheyutha and Handloom Mitra had been brought in by his government. He said that KCR had always stood by the handicrafts and caste professions.

"In the 2023 Assembly elections, the BRS gave more tickets to BCs than the Congress and the BJP. And of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in the State, five are reserved for SCs and STs while six of the remaining 12 seats are reserved for the BCs. It was only because of KCR that 50% of the seats were allotted to the BCs," he said.

KTR asserted that KCR was the only leader who had shown his ambitions in action to keep his aspirations going. "KCR has put into practice the ideals of Dr B R Ambedkar. A 125-feet statue of Ambedkar was erected by him, and he implemented the Dalit Bandhu scheme. In the name of the Ambedkar Overseas Scholarship, each dalit student was given Rs 20 lakh to study abroad. No one in this country has ever done this for the dalits. KCR is giving political priority to the weaker sections of the society," he said, and called upon all the party leaders to come together and make the party candidate for the Bhongir Lok Sabha seat Kyama Mallesh win by a huge majority.
