Online Movie Tickets In Telangana Only Through Govt Portal S

There is a lot of tax evasion in the current mechanism which will get rectified with the routing of all online ticket sales through the TSFDC portal, the government feels.

Animal Husbandry & Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said that the Telangana government was mulling withdrawing permission for online sale of film tickets to private portals like BookMyShow and PayTM soon, and have all online ticket sales only on the official portal of the TSFDC.

He said that the State government was about to take a decision in this regard, and soon the sale of tickets online for watching films on privately owned portals would be stalled.

This plan of banning sale of tickets online via private players would help producers, distributors, theatre-owners and the government, he felt. There was a lot of tax evasion and lack of transparency in the current mechanism which would get rectified with the routing of all online ticket sales through the TSFDC portal, he claimed.

The minister said that the move would also help deserving actors become film stars, irrespective of their families.
