Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said that people could continue to watch films in theatres following the corona protocols, and that the allowed occupancy rate will continue to be 100%.
The government would also not take a decision to reduce the prices of tickets, he said.
(The Telangana government recently allowed cinemas to increase ticket prices.)
The minister was interacting with a team of film industry professionals who had come to meet him to discuss ticket prices, theatre occupancy and related issues.
The minister said that since thousands of families were relying on the film industry, the government was supporting industry, right from shooting to screening. There would be no restrictions on the screening of movies, he said, and urged people to avoid believing rumours to the contrary.
He also pointed out that despite allowing 100% occupancy and no restrictions, people anyway were not coming in large numbers to the theatres now.
