Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today announced that the Rythu Bharosa funds would be credited to the farmers' accounts after the municipal elections.
Addressing the "Praja Palana - Praja Vijayotsava Sabha" following the foundation stone ceremony for the Young India Residential School in the Gudur village of Miryalaguda mandal, Nalgonda district, the Chief Minister assured the gathering that all welfare schemes would be implemented impartially, with benefits extended to every eligible beneficiary.
Reddy spoke about his government's commitment to farmers, and said that Rs 21,000 crore had been allocated under the farm loan waiver program to benefit 25.35 lakh farmers. He added that farmers were also being offered remunerative prices along with an incentive of Rs 500 per quintal.
"Also, under the Rythu Bharosa initiative, Rs 9,000 crore has been distributed at Rs 6,000 per farmer. The Congress government has invested the highest amount in the country for farmers' welfare, totalling Rs 1.10 lakh crore," he said.
The Chief Minister also claimed that earlier people had to wait nearly a decade to receive ration cards, but now the ration card distribution system had improved, and the government was also supplying six kilograms of fine rice to 3.17 crore beneficiaries across the State.
Referring to the upcoming April budget, he said that the government planned to distribute a large number of houses to the poor to improve their dignity and quality of life.
The Chief Minister took the opportunity to also criticise the previous BRS government over the "fluoride contamination" issue in Nalgonda. He also alleged that the SLBC project was neglected due to political reasons. "We are committed to expediting the SLBC works and completing them within the next two years," he said.
Reddy said that there was no strong opposition in the Miryalaguda region to the Congress, and expressed confidence that the Congress would secure a decisive victory there in the municipal elections. He urged the people to vote based on the development achieved in Telangana under the Congress government.
