Taking populist schemes to a new level, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy announced that his government would provide one kilogram of rice for just one Re. 1 from 1 November.
Addressing the Rythu Mahila Sadassu at Tirupati on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said that the one-rupee-a-kg-rice scheme would benefit 2.25 crore ration card holders. Further, he said that the government would soon approve 24 lakh new ration cards.

Kiran Kumar Reddy also announced that the government would provide one lakh jobs by the end of December this year.
Further, he also announced several sops for Chittoor districts, including jobs for the youth, water supply to all villages, and loans for women. (INN)
