The Central Bureau of Investigation on Sunday named 2 IAS officials in the Obulapuram Mining Corporation case.
Former Mining Secretary Y Srilakshmi and former Director of the Mines & Geology Department V Rajagopal have been accused in the OMC case.
The probing agency included the names of these bureaucrats after it reportedly found some "concrete evidence" to prove their involvement in alleged illegal mining and violation of norms in sanctioning mining permits to OMC, a company owned by former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy.
As part of the probe, the CBI conducted search operations at the residences of Y Srilakshmi and V Rajagopal, and seized some vital documents.
With their inclusion in the list of accused, it is likely that the probing agency might arrest them any time.
Currently, Srilakshmi is the Commissioner of Health, Family and Child Welfare, while Rajagopal has recently retired from service. (INN
