Condemning the depiction of former chief minister NT Rama Rao in bad light in the film '
Rakhta Charitra-I' which was released on Friday, the late leader's widow Lakshmi Parvati demanded that the objectionable scenes should be stopped from being screened.
Parvati told media persons that she was contemplating to file a writ petition seeking removal of some scenes in the film which depicted the founder of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) as a 'murderer'.
The late leader's widow also charged film director Ram Gopal Varma of trying to garner publicity for the movie by creating controversy and sensationalism.
Terming him as despicable person, she challenged the film director to come and talk on the film.
Meanwhile, TDP leader Motukupalli Narasimhulu also condemned the highly objectionable scenes in the film and demanded that the director remove them immediately.
The TDP leader said the TDP would launch agitation against the film till the scenes were removed.
Meanwhile the TDP activists in Hindupur and Anantapur staged a rasta roko and dharna in front of film theatres, where the film was released, for depicting former chief minister as criminal.
At Krishna theatre in Anantapur, the TDP activists had heated argument with theatre management, resorted to stoning of the theatre and damaged flexi boards, alleging that the film had hurt their sentiments. To maintain law and order, the police took 30 activists into custody.
The film was released under tight security in Anantapur district as the story of the film was based on Rayalaseema factionalism, particularly on the killing of Anantapur TDP MLA Paritala Ravindra.
