It is old news that NTR Junior - the entire Nandamuri family, in fact - is trying his best to make his marriage, scheduled tomorrow night (early hours of 6th May) at HITEX, one to remember for a long, long time. It's now the time when the rubber meets the road.
Coming close as it does on the heels of Allu Arjun's grand marriage just some weeks back, the marriage appears to be, among others, a deliberate attempt to outdo the trend-setting predecessor in sheer scale and attendance.
The number of attendees is expected to be over 10,000, with NTR inviting 5,000 fans of his to the marriage, a first for the industry.
The cost of the mega-event is expected to be about Rs. 20 crores, with even things that are minor in normal marriages assuming extravagant proportions. Indeed, NTR has suspended all his shooting work for the past month to oversee arrangements.
The set, created by Tollywood art director Anand Sai, is rumoured to be costing Rs. 18 crores and rising to 160 feet, and has apparently used 300 workers.
A special song has been composed for the wedding by Arjun.
The wedding card shows illustrious Nandammuri ancestors, starting from NTR's great-grandfather.
The food is being catered by natives of Vijayawada, and high attention has been paid to every detail of what will be a traditional Andhra menu.
And the sheer number of VVIPs expected at the ceremony makes it a huge security event. Just about anybody who is anybody is expected to attend the mega wedding tomorrow. Indeed, tomorrow, the Nandamuri clout will be on full display.
The event will be telecast live, which makes it almost certain that most Telugus across the state will be sitting in front of their TVs celeb-spotting.
