Notices To TDP MLAs At Naidu's Behest
Nadendla Manohar has issued notices to 2 TDP MLAs following a complaint lodged by Chandrababu Naidu who sought their disqualification under the Anti-Defection Law.
Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar on Tuesday issued notices to 2 Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLAs - Bala Nagireddy and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy - following a complaint lodged by their party President N Chandrababu Naidu, who sought their disqualification from the House.
He had sought their disqualification under the Anti-Defection Law for indulging in anti-party activities during the recent Legislative Council elections.
The Deputy Speaker, while issuing the notices, asked the TDP members to submit their replies within 7 days.
The Deputy Speaker had earlier issued a notice to Nanapuneni Prasanna Kumar. When Prasanna Kumar had replied to the notice, the Deputy Speaker had forwarded the reply to the TDP, seeking additional information on the same.
Manohar is expected to initiate appropriate action against them based on the explanation given by the TDP.
Earlier, on Sunday, Manohar had consulted state Advocate General Sudarshan Reddy and Assembly Legal Advisor Jandhyala Shankar, and had held prolonged discussions with them on the issue. (INN)
