Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday stated that he has no differences with Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas over the selection of candidates for the by-elections to be held for Kadapa Parliamentary and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies.
Talking to media persons after emerging out of discussions with Congress president Sonia Gandhi over political developments in the state and the by-election campaign, the Chief Minister stated that he never had differences with the PCC chief over any issue.
He said the High Command was taking the by-election seriously and has ordered the state unit of the party to make all-out efforts to ensure that the Congress candidates win.
Expressing confidence over the chances of the Congress candidates in the by-elections, the Chief Minister stated that there was no need to reveal details about his meeting with the High Command.
"I am not responsible for false media reports, and there is no need to share the details with you (media persons)," he stated.
Kiran Kumar reiterated that former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy rose to a high position because of his loyalty to the Congress party. He described YSR as an asset for the Congress party even after his death.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had met Congress In-Charge of Andhra Pradesh Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad and Sonia Gandhi's political advisor Ahmed Patel, and briefed them over the campaign for the by-elections. (INN)
