Minister For Endowments Gade Venkat Reddy on Saturday denied that there was any rift in the Congress party, and scoffed at media reports of a possible split.
Talking to media persons, the Endowments Minister said that it is not surprising that the people in Srikakulam district have shown overwhelming love and affection for Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Venkat Reddy said that there is no leader in the state unit of the Congress party who does not benefit from the affection people have for the late YSR. He said that since Jagan is the former CM's son, the love and affection from the people for him is more than for others.
The Endowments Minister further said that everyone has the right and freedom to speak their minds in the Congress party. He added that the party members should take care that this freedom of speech does not break the discipline of the party.
