Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav reiterated today that there were no restrictions on the immersion of Ganesh idols in the Hussain Sagar lake, and that the immersion procedure would be held on September 9 as per schedule.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday after offering prayers to the Khairatabad Ganesh, Yadav alleged that the BJP leaders were trying to politicise the Ganesh immersion, and were deliberately creating confusion among the people using the festival.
The minister said that the authorities were busy in the arrangements for the mass immersions of Ganesh idols at the Tank Bund on September 9, and that cranes had already been deployed at the immersion spots, and that whatever the BJP was saying was just false propaganda against the government.
"The authorities are engaged in the arrangements and are taking elaborate steps for the smooth conduct of the immersion. It is very unfortunate that despite all of that the BJP leaders are organising rallies and staging protests in the name of immersion in the Hussain Sagar not being allowed," Yadav said.
Later, Yadav visited the cranes deployed on NTR Marg, and moved around the Tank Bund to inspect the ongoing arrangements.
Meanwhile, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), with the help of the police department, is planning to enable Ganesh idol immersion in about 60 other natural water bodies, including the Saroornagar lake, and 74 artificial ponds.
