No Remission For Prisoners

Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy ruled out remission of sentences of prisoners on the eve of Andhra Pradesh Formation Day.

The State government has decided against the remission of sentences of prisoners on the eve of Andhra Pradesh Formation Day which falls on November 1st.

Elaborating on this point, Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy clarified at the State secretariat on Wednesday that such announcements about the remissions would be decided only before the Republic Day celebrations.

Regarding the lifting of cases against students who participated in the recent agitation for achieving separate Telangana, Reddy said that the process was in progress.
