Agriculture Minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy on Sunday stated that there was no question of joining the yet-to-be-launched party of former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Talking to media persons in the district, Vivekananda Reddy said that he would remain loyal to the Congress party and the leadership of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Reacting to the decision by the former Kadapa MP to form his own party after resigning from the party, the Agriculture Minister said that it was Mr Jaganmohan Reddy's personal decision, and no one could object to the decision.
Asked to comment on the potential impact of Jaganmohan Reddy's party, Vivekananda Reddy said that the Congress party would not suffer any damage from regional parties.
"I don't see any threat to the national party from the proposed party which is yet to be established ," he stated.
Vivekananda Reddy's decision to successfully lobby for a ministerial berth was one of the reasons given by Jaganmohan Reddy in his 5-page resignation letter address to Sonia Gandhi. He had said that some top rung leaders in the state Congress were attempting to split the YSR family.
