Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka today said that the State government didn't have any intention of privatising the power companies in Telangana.
During the debate in the Assembly on the "injustice" done to Telangana in the Union budget, the Deputy CM condemned the allegations of BRS MLA K T Rama Rao that the State government was planning to privatise the power companies.
KTR had also said that the responsibility for collecting electricity bills in the Old City had been handed over to the Adani group, and that Bhatti Vikramarka, who handled energy, should know what was happening in the DISCOMs and whether Adani's men had come to fight or not.
Responding to the remarks, Bhatti said that nowhere did the State government say that any power circles were being given to private individuals in Hyderabad, and asked KTR how he could speak in the House referring to what was written in the newspapers.
"K T Rama Rao is misleading the people of Telangana as well as the Assembly. All the words he speaks are baseless allegations. The State government has no intention of privatising the power companies," Vikramarka asserted.
