Cyberabad Commissioner of Police V C Sajjanar today said that the residents of area would not be allowed to hold big parties to celebrate New Year eve, owing to concerns about public health in the midst of the ongoing pandemic.
He added that the police would keep a special eye on all the pubs, restaurants, resorts and hotels in the jurisdiction on the occasion to implement the ban on the gathering of large crowds as this would help contain the spread of the coronavirus.
The CP also said that no celebrations would be allowed in the gated communities and apartments of the area either.
Saying that the ban could only be implemented with the cooperation of the people, he urged the citizens to inform the police about any gatherings being held in violation of the ban.
Addressing the rising concern about drunk driving accidents in the jurisdiction, Sajjanar said that the police would be on the lookout for any drunk drivers, and warned that the offenders would be punished severely.
