TRS spokesman and MLC Karne Prabhakar today denied the Opposition charge that the ruling party had struck a secret deal with actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena party.
"The TRS does not consider Pawan Kalyan as a full-time politician as he comes and disappears frequently. Pawan is a seasonal leader, and will not benefit or cause any loss to any political party right now," he said.
Prabhakar ridiculed Congress former MP Ponnam Prabhakar for alleging that the TRS had some secret deal with Pawan Kalyan. "Our party is very strong in the state and enjoys public support always. It has won several elections so far, and doesn't need anyone's help. The meeting of Pawan Kalyan with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao recently was not political. Pawan met the Chief Minister only to seek permission for five shows for his
Agnyathavaasi and nothing else," he clarified.
"Our party is not so weak that we need to have a truck with other parties. Pawan Kalyan is an actor who comes to the people rarely, and is not a full-time politician. Political parties will consider Pawan Kalyan a full-time politician if he completely say goodbye to the cinema field and dedicates his time to politics. We say all the best to Pawan if he has decided to take up a full-time political career," he added.
