Tollywood star and Jana Sena Founder-President Pawan Kalyan today announced that his party would field candidates in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the 2019 general elections.
He said that he would focus on building the party from June, and would put in place the complete structure by March 2018. He also said that the party would consider having an alliance with the Left parties.
The actor made these announcements at a function to launch the website of his party to mark the completion of three years of Jana Sena.
He also said that the people in both the Telugu states were waiting for a youthful leadership as the ruling parties had deceived them on all fronts, and so he would allot 60% of the seats to young leaders. He said that he himself would contest from Anantapur.
Asserting that clean politics and resolving people's problems would be top priorities of his party, Kalyan said that his famous brother may not join him as their ideologies were different.
