Questioning the Jana Sena party's existence in Telangana, newly joined Telangana Congress leader A Revanth Reddy said that having fans alone was not enough to gather votes.
In an informal talk with scribes, Reddy alleged that Pawan Kalyan was a mere pawn under Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, just as Governor E S L Narasimhan, too, was.
Reddy also ridiculed Kalyan's tour of the state, calling it directionless, and a mere "make-up and pack-up" tour. He said that Kalyan's entry into politics was just like another movie for him, only with a different title, and that the youth of the state would not be fooled as they knew the difference between cinema and politics.
He also demanded to know how KCR could be called a "smart" CM with incidents such as children dying in Masaipet, police beating women after stripping them naked, farmers being handcuffed etc taking place under the latter's watch.
He also accused KCR of sending all leaders who posed a political threat to his son KTR, to Delhi, in an effort to secure his son's political future.
Meanwhile, in an attempt to woo the Telangana TDP leaders, Reddy said that they would become MLAs if they were to enter into an alliance with the Congress in the upcoming elections. He reminded workers that the TDP had signed on the Triple Talaq bill in Parliament along with the Congress, and said that it was a clear indication to the people that the TDP did not stand with the NDA.
