Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who is on an Odarpu tour to console bereaved families of those who gave up their lives for the late CM YSR, is facing bomb threats and stiff resistance from pro-Telangana groups, ahead of his tour of Warangal district.
Jagan's tour of Warangal is set to begin on Friday at 9:30am, and there have already been threats and statements demanding that he withdraw his decision to tour Telangana. Telangana supporters allege that he's carrying out a political gimmick, adding that he had never wept for those who had given up their lives for the cause of separate statehood for Telangana.
Meanwhile, a bomb was found in Mahabubabad in Warangal district, which was taken care of by a bomb disposal squad. While the CM Rosaiah stated on Thursday morning that Jagan didn't need permission from anyone for his tour, the severity of threats to the yatra has prompted the home minister Sabita Indra Reddy to conduct a 2-hour meeting with DGP Girish Kumar over security arrangements for the tour. The DGP, when quizzed over the specifics, said the situation is still being reviewed.
