The inquiry by a team of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) into the
encounter of the four accused in the Disha murder case was completed at Mahbubnagar District Hospital on Saturday.
A special team of the Commission, from New Delhi, visited the hospital and examined the bodies of the four accused. They reached the hospital at 1:30 pm and spent time till 4:40 pm. They perused the post-mortem reports of the accused, and also examined bullet injuries on the dead bodies of the accused.
A team of forensic doctors of Gandhi Hospital also took part in the process, and the NHRC officials interacted with the doctors and other officials in the hospital.
The local officials were told that the NHRC team members would visit the encounter area at Chatanpalli first, but the latter did not visit the place, and came to the hospital directly from the Shamshabad airport.
It was decided by the officials that the last rites of the bodies of the deceased would be performed only after the inquiry by the National Human Rights Commission and the High Court. The process of handing over the bodies to their family members was stalled by a directive from the High Court, which ordered the bodies to be preserved until Monday. The bodies will be kept at the mortuary of the district hospital till Monday evening.
