NHRC Notices To AP, Telangana Chief Secretaries

The National Human Rights Commission served the notices after a complaint alleging continuous suicides in private and corporate colleges in the states.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) served notices on the Chief Secretaries of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana today reacting to a complaint lodged by a Supreme Court advocate Sravan Kumar alleging that suicides had been taking place in private and corporate colleges in the states due to severe pressure on the students.

The NHRC directed the two Chief Secretaries to submit comprehensive reports on the suicides in the colleges in their respective states within four weeks.
