The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has sanctioned funds to take up repairs on the National Highway 9 in Medak district.
Funds to the tune of Rs. 2.79 crore have been released by the NHAI authorities.
However, a few conditions were put forth before the sanction. They included prioritising of stretches after inspection of site, taking of photographs before and after repair, not taking up works where it the state government had already done, and no positive variation.
The authorities of the NHAI also admitted that the road is in need of repair as it is getting more and more damaged by the day.
NHAI chief general manager A K Mathur wrote a letter to Major Industries Minister J. Geeta Reddy in this regard, indicating the sanction of funds, and also requesting that the Chief Engineer (R&B) and National Highways take up repairs immediately.
