Vemulapathi Devi, whose husband, a constable, passed away in 2018 while on duty, finally got a government job, as a Junior Assistant in the Nampally MRO.

Vemulapathi Devi, the beneficiary of a compassionate appointment, today met CM Prajavani In-charge Dr G Chinna Reddy and State Nodal Officer Divya Devarajan to express her gratitude after receiving appointment orders in the Revenue Department.
Devi visited the CM Prajavani grievance redressal program at the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Pragathi Bhavan and showed her appointment orders to Dr Reddy and Devarajan, thanking them for their support.
Her husband, B Ravikumar, a constable at the Mahankali police station in Hyderabad, passed away on November 17, 2018, while on duty. As Ravikumar hailed from the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, the compassionate appointment case remained unresolved for six years due to jurisdictional issues between the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments.
After the formation of the Congress government in Telangana and the launch of the CM Prajavani initiative aimed at addressing public grievances, a few months ago Devi submitted a petition detailing her situation. The matter was brought to the attention of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy through the concerned officials. Since the deceased was employed with the Hyderabad police, the Chief Minister directed that Devi be granted a compassionate appointment in Telangana. Subsequently, she was appointed as a Junior Assistant in the Nampally Mandal Revenue Office.
