Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to finalise the highway alignment plan for Amaravati-Anantapur pathway within a week.
In a review meeting yesterday, the Chief Minister said that the government was keen on completing the project within 2 years. Naidu told the National Highway Authority officials, who were also present in the review meeting, to complete all ongoing highway works in the State within the stipulated time.
He said that the Anantapur-Amaravati highway was the first greenfield project, and asked the officials to scrutinize the proposal and complete the land acquisition for the project. The government was also planning to lay a railway line beside the highway, the CM added.
He advised Joint Secretary to CMO, Rajamouli, to write letters to the concerned officials and Central Ministers for speedy implementation of the expressway.
The Chief Minister opined that the geometric design of proposed National Highway between Raipur-Vishaka-Bhavanapadu had many dangerous curves, and asked them to reconstruct them into straighter lines.
