Cyberabad Commissioner C V Anand has imposed traffic restrictions for New Year celebrations this year.
Some routes are being closed from 11pm on December 31 to 5am on January 1. The Outer Ring Road will be closed for light motor vehicles and passenger vehicles; medium and heavy goods vehicles will be however allowed.
However, bonafide passengers traveling on light motor vehicles will be allowed on the ORR, subject to production of air tickets. All the flyovers in the Cyberabad commissionerate's jurisdiction, and on the PVNR Express Way, will remain closed during the stipulated timings.
The Commissioner has advised people to avoid the above roads. Further, organizers of various events have been asked to engage sufficient private security personnel for traffic management to regulate traffic inside and into their respective venues.
They have also been asked to ensure parking of all vehicles inside the premises of the venue only. They will not be allowed to allow parking on the roads used by general public.
Checkposts will be installed by police at various places, to check rash driving and drunken driving. The public have been advised to follow all safety and traffic rules. (INN)
