In view of the New Year Eve celebrations on December 31, Cyberabad Police Commissioner C V Anand notified traffic restrictions from 11pm on December 31, 2015, to 5 am on January 1, 2016.
The ORR will be closed for light motor vehicles and passenger vehicles. However, medium and heavy goods vehicles will be allowed. Bonafide passengers travelling to the Shamshabad Airport on light motor vehicles will still be allowed on the ORR subject to production of tickets. The order applies to all flyovers in the Cyberabad Commissionerate limits unless specifically opened for traffic by the Police.
On the PVNR expressway, the organizers of various events / celebrations should engage sufficient private security personnel for traffic management to regulate the traffic inside and into the venue. The organizers should ensure parking of all vehicles inside the premises of the venue. They should not allow parking on the roads used by the general public.
Checks posts will be installed by the police at various places to check rash driving and drunken driving.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy also notified traffic restrictions for vehicular traffic around the Hussain Sagar lake. Vehicular traffic will not be allowed on the NTR Marg, Necklace Road and Upper Tankbund from 10pm to 2am on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1. The public will be requested to take alternate routes.
The mint compound lane adjacent to the Secretariat will also be closed for general vehicular traffic.
All fly-overs will also be closed for traffic. And travel buses, lorries and heavy vehicles will not be allowed in the Hyderabad limits till 2am on January 1, 2016.
The traffic police of Hyderabad will undertake extensive checks to prevent and curb offences.
