Union minister and Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy today said that the union government had set up a halting station at the noted Komuravelli temple.
He said that it was a gift by the Modi government to the devotees of Mallanna, and thanked PM Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the facility.
He said that the long-standing wish of the devotees of Komuravelli Mallanna was going to be fulfilled soon with the halting of the station.
He said that he had repeatedly explained to the Centre the need for a railway station at Komuravelli for the convenience of the devotees, and that apart from writing letters to the Railway Minister, he had asked him in person too to take the initiative in this regard.
He said that the railways had resultantly discussed the feasibility of the request and agreed to the construction of the halt station.
"The railways then issued an order giving the green signal for the construction of a new halt station at Komuravelli between the Lakdaram and Duddeda stations," he said.
He said that the Mallanna Jatara, which starts during Sankranthi and goes on till Ugadi, was celebrated in a grand manner every year in Komuravelli of Siddipet district. Lakhs of devotees flocked to this fair, and there had been a long-standing demand for the construction of a railway halting station at the temple town, he added.
