Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Friday stated that he had never changed his stand on the Telangana state formation issue.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Botsa Satyanarayana denied the reports that appeared in a section of media, that he had changed his stand on Telangana statehood after becoming the PCC chief.
"I have never changed my stand on Telangana, and I honour my promises for Telangana," he said.
He appealed to the party leaders to postpone the agitation for the statehood, as Congress president Sonia Gandhi has undergone surgery and will not be available for the next three weeks to take any decision on Telangana.
Responding to the merger of the Praja Rajyam Party into the Congress, he said that K Chiranjeevi has to take a final decision on it.
He also said that the government would convene a meeting with farmers who were on a "crop holiday" in the Godavari districts. (INN)
